Overview

Session Log is a very simple tool that allows you to save information about each session out on the track. Items that can be stored currently include: Track, Driver, Car, Date/Time, Tire Pressures, Tire Temperatures, Wheel Camber, Environmental Temperatures, and Avg/Fast Times.

All information is manually entered, meaning there are no interfaces to other electronics or timing systems. Session attributes are optional, so you only need to log what you are interested in.

Launching Session Log

When Session Log is installed, an icon is added under “Programs”. Simply tap this icon to get started.

Entering New Session Data

After Session Log has been launched, the first screen to appear gives you the option to “Enter New Session Data” or “Load Saved Session Data”. Since, at this point, you don’t have any data saved, you must start by tapping Enter New Session Data. When a new session is started, a multi-tabbed window is displayed, allowing you to enter various information. The initial tab is labeled “Details”, and the other tabs are “Environment”, “Timing”, and “Comments”. All fields are optional (except date/time). You can populate all the data you want at this time, or you can enter some now and come back later (see Editing Session Data) to add more information (such as Timing). After entering the desired information on these tabs, tap Save. See below for more information about each tab.

Details Tab
This tab allows you to enter basic details about the session; track name, date, time, vehicle description, driver name. A “Cold tire start” checkbox allows you to signify whether you went out on the track with cold tires or not. This can be useful if you provide your initial tire pressures later, and are using this as a basis for future starting tire pressures.

Environment Tab
This tab allows you to enter the ambient and track temperatures for the track session.

Timing Tab
This tab allows you to enter the average and fastest lap times for the track session.

Times must be entered in one of the following formats:
   M:S:m
   M:S.m
   M.S.m
   S.m

M=Minutes, S=Seconds, m=milliseconds

Comments Tab
Enter any notes that you might want to refer to later here.

Entering Corner Details for a Session

After a new session has been saved, the “View Session” window is displayed. The information that you entered for the session is showed, along with four boxes; one for each corner (wheel) of the car. Each box is labeled for the corner it represents. Click on a “corner” to set its information.

The “Edit Corner” window allows you to enter several attributes. In the “Tire” text field, you can enter a description for the tire used, including the product name and its specifications. There are also fields for entering tire temperatures, tire pressures (pre and post session readings), and camber.

Note that the order of the tire temperature readings will change for the left and right sides of the vehicle. For example, the left corners will be ordered Outer, Center, Inner, and the rights will be Inner, Center, Outer. This same ordering will be shown on the “View Session” page, as well. This is done so that the locations will visually match the vehicle.

After information has been added for the corner, tap save. The “View Session” page will be displayed again, now showing the new corner information. Continue the process for the other corners.

Entering Additional Sessions

While on the “View Session” page, another session can be created by tapping on the Session menu and then selecting New Session. After multiple sessions have been stored, you can navigate between them with the arrows on the “View Session” page.

Loading Saved Session Data

When Session Log is first started, you are presented with the option to load saved session data. When viewing a session, you can load a new set of sessions by tapping on Session and selecting Load Session Data

The “Load Session Data” page allows you to load a filtered set of sessions, which you can then navigate through. You can only view a set of sessions that all occur on the same date, so the Date field is required. The Track, Driver, and Vehicle fields are all optional. After setting the load filters, tap Load.

Editing Session Data

To edit a saved session, first load/navigate to the session. From the “View Session” page, you can edit any data item (e.g. Driver, Track Temp, Avg Lap, etc.) by tapping on its label or value. Alternatively, from the “View Session” page, you can tap Session and select Edit Current Session. To edit the saved information for a corner, simply click on the box for the corner.

Deleting Session Data

To delete a saved session, first load/navigate to the session. From the “View Session” page, tap Session and select Delete Current Session.
